Yellowstone National Park

• Location: Wyoming, with some parts in Montana and Idaho
• Created: March 1, 1872
• Established: For preservation of the geysers and hot springs of the region, and to protect the wildlife that inhabit the park
• Primary features: Canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and geysers

1. Old Faithful is the park's most famous geyser.
2. The park is home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope.
3. Yellowstone was the World's first national park.
