Maroon 5 originally formed in 1994 in Los Angeles, California as Kara's Flowers. After 1 failed album, the members changed their name and sound. Thanks to their catchy, pop rock-oriented singles, they found slow but steady success with their 1st album. Maroon 5 became the biggest pop rock act of the 2000s with album number 2 and continued this success with their 3rd record, while frontman Adam Levine also dabbled in outside projects. They collaborated with many artists and achieved 2 chart-topping singles in the later half of the decade.
