Tone No. Frequency and Cadence Changing your ringtones

The phone system can use different ringtones to distinguish between internal and external calls (calls from within the building vs. calls from outside). You CAN ALSO make them both the same if you want.

Press the buttons at the left to hear samples of the available ringtone patterns. Sorry - you can't download catchier tones!

To change the ringtone on your phone, follow the these steps:

  1. Pick up the receiver
  2. Press #9876 to enter User Programming Mode.
  3. Press the button to select your extension line. (mine says "Ext. 42082") The LED will be steady green.
  4. You can press Hold to switch between internal and external pitch. (Internal = station calls within your system; external = outside line calls.)
  5. Enter the two-digit pitch number (numbers from the buttons at left on this page).
  6. Press the same phone button that you pressed in Step 2 (Line or extension). Two beeps is a confirmation tone and "DATA PROGRAMMED" displays on your LCD.
  7. Lift the handset off-hook/on-hook to save settings.
